Welcome to my Video Game Collection Showcase
This website was created to keep track of the physical videogames in my personal collection. As a videogame collector, it can sometimes be difficult to remember every game that I already own, especially when looking at games in stores, online marketplaces, or at garage sales. This website provides a simple way to organize and view my collection in one convenient location.
The main purpose of this website is to help me keep an organized record of my games and prevent accidentally purchasing the same game more than once. Each game can have information such as its title, platform, genre, release date, and rating. Having this information available makes it easier to search through my collection and quickly determine whether I already own a game.
This project is also an opportunity for me to improve my web development skills. The website will use HTML and CSS for its structure and appearance, along with Bootstrap and JavaScript for additional functionality. The planned back end will use Node.js and Express, while MySQL will be used as the database. These technologies will allow the project to grow beyond a simple collection of static webpages into a dynamic website.
Overall, this website is designed to be both useful and enjoyable. It gives me a central place to keep track of my physical videogames while also allowing me to practice the different skills I am learning in this course. As the project continues, I plan to add more games, improve the search and filtering features, and make the website easier to use.
